POSTAL RATES. Letters and Letter Cards.—lnland, including Cook Islands, Id for each ■toz or fraction thereof, and Jd for each succeeding 2oz. United Kingdom, British Possessions, United States, Chili, Costa Rica, Egypt, Italy, Mexico, .Nicaragua, Nigeria, Peru, Pago Pago, Paraguay, Portugal, and Portuguese Colonies, Siam, Servia, and Postal Agencies in Chinese Treaty Ports, Id for each oz. or fraction thereof; ail other places 2Jd for the first oz. or fraction tnereof, and IJd for each succeeding oz. or fraction thereof.
Post Cards.—lnland, single, Jd; reply, Id; all other places, single, Id; reply 2d. Printed Papers (rnclnding Books and Magazines, not registered).—All places, Jd per 2oz •- M agazines (registered), inland, Jd for every Boz or fraction thereof. Foreign, Jd per 2oz or fraction thereof. One end must bh left open. Commercial Papers.—Town (for accounts, etc., only), Jd for 2ozs, or Id for first 4oz and Jd each succeeding 2oz. Inland, Id for first 4oz, and Jd for each succeeding 2oz. All other places IGoz 2Jd, and Jd for every additional 2oz (Open for inspection). Newspapers.—-Town and Inland, Jd each. United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Ceylon, India, Jamaica, Natal, Orange River, South Sea Islands, and Transvaal, Id each paper. If undei Boz sent «f>y first available route; ovei Boz sent by direct steamer only, un. less specially addressed and paid at rate of Id for first 4oz and Jd for each succeeding 2oz. Registration.—2d additional for all places. TELEPHONES. Charges.— 4.t excnanges -continuously open—Business establishments, £7; private residences, £5 per annum. Exchanges not continuously open, an equal charge of £6. Telephone Exchanges at Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin, Invercargill, Napier, Hastings, Palmerston North, aud Wanganui are open all day and all night.
