STATE MANUFACTURE.
IN WEST AUSTRALIA. Perth, February 28. The long-deferred question of the establishment of a State manufactory (for agricultural implements has now at length been decided. Air Davies, the expert engaged by the Scaddan Government months ago to choose a site and arrange a (start, lr reported in favour of Rocky Bay, on the Swan river, above Fremantle, and that site is adopted. The Acting-Premier says the Government has bought for £BSOO the equipment plant of the Triumph Plough Co in South Australia, valued by Mr Davies at £14,000, and expects to get £IOOO by selling surplus parts. The Government will also sell the patent rights in the Eastern States. The site is being made ready for work to be started early.
