THE ORINGI CAMP.

PROVISIONAL SPORTS PROGRAMME. I A feature of the Oringi Camp will be- the day devoted to the Brigade’s sports meeting, and a very attractive! sports programme has already been drawn up by Captain Lampen and other officers, though, of course, it is as yet merely provisional, to be possibly supplemented later by other events. The local company is al- 1 ready in training, and the services of Mr Murray Urquhart have been re-! quisitinned for training for the wrestling events. The programme reads:’ IOOYds (Ist and 2nd to qualify).' Prizes, Ist £2, 2nd £l. BSOYds.—Prizes, trophies, Ist value £3, 2nd £1 10s. Rifle Exercises.—Teams; 16 men! and one N.C.O. Ist prize £5 cash.! (Exercises as per Christchurch Mili-( tary Tournament).

Ammunition Supply Race. —Teams of 8 men; uniform, marching order. Four men per team will bo posted at stations 75 yards apart; on the order “go” 2 men from the home station will pick up full box of ammunition and carry it to station 2, where two men take it over and carry back to homo station; tho same procedure is repeated by tho remaining two at the homo station, and the final dash is made by the ■ two fresh men at the distant station. Prize, trophy, £2. Physical Drill (as per Christchurch Assault at Arms). —Teams of 16 men and one X.C.O. Prize, £5 cash. Assault Practice.—Teams 16 men and one X.C.0., in full marching order, tho water bottles filled, haversacks and equipment weighted so as to total a weight of 431bs. Teams to he extended to 3 paces by X.C.O. and directed to assault a position at 500 yards distance. (1) Advance 150 yards, take cover, fire 3 rounds blank per man, fix bayonets, charge 150 yards to within 200 yards of supposed trenches. Points to be allotted as follows 1 Extensions ;2, method of advance; 3, fire control and discipline; 1, use of cover; 5, time and length of rushes. Prize £5.

Inter-regimental Tug-of-War.—lo men aside (to bo inspected by regimental M.O. prior to start). Prize, trophy, £5. X.B.—ln all teams events osly one team from each unit is to be entered, preliminary heats o be settled under Regirnntnl ar■angements. A trophy value £lO for the bestkept regimental lines. Finals for the Wellington Infantry Brigade. Boxing and wrestling championships will be decided, pre'iminary heats'io be run off inter-re-gimentally. vVrestling.—l, :Heavy weight; 2, midlie weight; 3, light weight.
