THE SUFFRAGETTES.
MORE OUTBREAKS. • (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (United Press Association.) London, March 8. ' Suffragettes have committed further pillar-box outrages at Battersea and Kent, and have out a large number of telegraphband telephone wires elsewhere. The Duchess of Bedford, while opposed to the militants, refuses to pay taxes on the Princes’ Skating Rink, as a protest against the manner in which the Government has treated the suffrage movement.
NON-MILITANTS START A BOYCOTT. (Received 8.45 a.m.) London, March 9. The National Union of Women’s Suffrage Societies resolved to oppose the Government candidates and support the Labour men. Non-militants have begun a boycott of tradesmen and clergymen opposed to suffrage, and will divert charitable and other donations to the suffrage cause, withdraws money from the Post Office and reinvest it in countries where suffrage is granted. Suffragettes destroyed railways, lamps, and small trees at Nottingham Forest Recreation Grounds. The culprits were not detected. '
