POINCAIRE AND HOLMAN FRATERNISE.

ADMINISTRATOR OF NEW CALEDONIA. (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (United Press .Association.) (Received 9.0 a.ih.) London, March 3. The Hon. Mr Holman, New South Wales Minister of .Justice, has arrived. Ho visited President Poincaire on route at Elysee, and expressed tho Sydney Bar’s congratulations on his election. President Poincaire was greatly pleased and hogged Mr Holman to convey his acknowledgments to hisSydney confreres of a tribute with which lie was much touched. Ho said he regarded it as a proof of fraternity. Students of law throughout the world expressed their warmest interest iu Australia’s progress. In a lengthy interview, tho President also discussed the question of prison administration in New Caledonia. President Poincaire raised this question himself, stating that his Cabinet was taking steps to investigate certain obsolete methods about which Mr Holman had previously communicated with tho French Minister of Justice.
