SHEEP DOG TRIALS.
EAST ROAD CLUB’S MEETING. April 3rd and 4th are the dates fixed for the annual meeting of the East Road Sheep Dag Trial Club, to bo held at Te Wera. The programme is an attractive one, and good prize money is offered. In Class 1 (Head, Bring Back and Hold in Ring) the Club offers £9 in prize money, in addition to which there is Mr W. Grant’s special of two guineas to man and dog who have never won a first or :e:ond prize at any trial, and Mr Backhouse’s gold modal for dog scoring highest points. Other classes are provided for in the same liberal way, with numerous special prizes, including the Club’s handsome silver cup, and the Stratford Auctioneers’ cup for dog scoring highest points in class three. A social and dance will lie held in the evening of the concluding day of the trial, when the prize money and trophies will bo presented. All entries close with the lion, secretary, Mr B. Boyle, To Wera, at 9 p.m. on Saturday, March 29th.
