TRIPLE SUICIDE AT SEA.
THREE GERMAN SISTERS. Sydney, February 27. Particulars have been received of a triple suicide aboard the Dutch packet Vannort. Retween Batavia and Singapore three German sisters named Derricks, amongst the passengers, disappeared. Letters found in the cabin showed that they had agreed to commit suicide. The eldest was to administer chloroform to the other two, throw the bodies overboard, and then jump into the sea herself. An empty chloroform bottle was discovered. The women left their personal belongings to the captain of the Vannort.
