Mr Asquith lias informed the Lord Mayor that the Government proposed to provide for the relatives and dependents of Captain Scott and his four companions. Their position remains as if the disaster had not occurred. The funds aggregate £30,000. SYDNEY’S CONTRIBUTION. Sydney, February 23. A street collection made by theatrical stars in motor cars and at a matinee at His Majesty’s Theatre yielded £832 for the Scott fund. The Scott fund was augmented by over £2OO from a benefit in the Town Hall organised by the amalgamated picture* companies. With Professor David’s assistance films were shown explaining the work of the expedition.
