HARRISON, AETAT 46. | It is with very deep regret we nave [ { to record the death of Dr George Alfred ! i Harrison, who, at tiro early ago of j 46 years, passed away at 3 o’clock yesterday morning. Dr. Harrison was ! one of the best known and most p..polar medical practitioners in Taranaki, and was highly esteemed both for hm professional ability and Iris high social qualities. About a fortnight ago, j in the course of las professional .verb. Dr. Harrison was unfortunate enough to contract blood-poisoning, anti, though every effort was made to save a valuable life (no less than seven medical men being in attendance, and Drs. Paget and Valintine remaining with him continually from the moment that his illness was realised to be serious, till the end came), all efforts of modern 'science proved unavailing. The accident which resulted so disastrously was a very simple one, blood poisoning being contracted from tiro prick of a safetypin used in bandaging a child, upon whom Dr. Harrison had operated for an abscess in tiro neck.. The late Dr. Harrison was the son of a Bristol consulting physician, specialising in skin diseases, and was educated at Clifton College, Cam-| bridge University, and St. Bartholomew’s. In 1894 ho came out to join Drs. Paget and Valintine, who, a year previously, had commenced practice in the Stratford district. Dr. Valintine was established at Inglewood, Dr. Paget at Stratford, and Dr. Harrison made bis homo at Eltham, where he had continued in practice ever since. The late Dr. Harrison’s marriage to Dr. Valintino’s sister took place shortly afterwards. Dr. Harrison is survived by his wife and two boys (the eldest aged 17), with whom widespread and sincere sympathy is expressed in their bereavement.
