STRATFORD GUN CLUB.

THE NOBEL BALLISTITE CUP. The third competition for the Nobel Baljistite Cup was held on the racecourse yesterday in ideal weather. Thirteen shootists faced the traps and there were quite a number of interested spectators as well. The shooting was about on a par with the two previous exhibitions, and the position of the leading men has undergone a slight change, G. D. McKenzie displacing A. Scott for premier position, which he now holds with 77 points, the latter being 74. G. Hunter, by making top score for the day (37) now ties with Scott for second place, H. Campbell going back from third to fourth position, while H. Marsh, and T. A.. Lineham also tie for sth. The concluding shoot for the cup will take place on Thursday, March 6, Five sweepstakes were held after the chief event, additional interest being lent by the presence ofMessrs W. Wollven of Palmerston North, and N. Aston of Wanganui, both of whom performed creditably, their speed in getting “on” a bird being something of an eye-opener to the local men, who will no doubt benefit considerably by the experience.
