OUR LOAN MONEY.
ITS ILL-SUCCESS. (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (United Press (Association.) London, February 19. The Daily , ,says that consols are weak, owing to the ill-success of the New Zealand loan. The underwriters have to realise securities to meet the calls. It adds that highclass borrowers are busy arranging fresh loans, some placing short-term hills at a high rate in order to tide over the present difficulty.
WIRELESS.
(By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (United Press Association.) London, February 19. The Admiralty is utilising the New Zealand’s voyage to experiment witn long-distance wireless. CHATHAM ISLANDS STATION. Wellington, February, 20. The erection of the wireless station at the Chatham Islands is to be proceeded with at once. The Hhnitangi, which is leaving to-night, will take down to the Waitangi the office snd residence for two operators, and also a party of men to carry out the work. The plant will be shipped later on.
