THE CARLTON TRAGEDY.
THE VICTIMS IDENTIFIED. Melbourne, February 18. In the Carlton tragedy the man has been identified as James Rawlings, a labourer, and the woman as Alice Hudson, residing at Carlton. Rawlings has a chance of recovering. (Received 9.30 a.m.) Melbourne, February 19. The tragedy was the result of jealousy. Rawlings and the woman Hudson were living together, and on the night of the tragedy he caught her talking to another man. Waiting till they separated, Rawlings waylaid and attacked her.
