HEAVY WEATHER. (Received 9.30 a.m.) Sydney, February 19. Fierce electric storms accompanied by torrential rain and hail, have done severe damage to property and crops in a number of the country centres. FOUND DEAD. (Received 9.30 a.m.) Sydney, February 18. A. man named Acheson was found dead in the street at Leichhardt, after a street riot. The police are clueless. THE MISSING SCHOONER. Brisbane, February 18. In connection with the missing schooner Dancing Wave, the steamer Joan Douglas reports finding a lifebuoy marked “Dancing Wave,’’ off Cape Bedford. A quantity of timber was seen floating in the vicinity. HEAT IN NEW SOUTH WALES. Sydney, February 18. A scorching nor’-wester brought the temperature to 100.5 in the shade, which is the second highest February reading since 1866. A CURIOUS FL\ T D. Wliile working in the deep lead at Emrnaville, at a depth of 160 feet, ttie engineer found a boomerang in the wash, coated with tin. When scraped it proved to be as perfect as when made from the solid hardwood. There was fifty feet of basalt above the wash. SENTENCED TO DEATH. Samoa, February 18. At the Lautoka criminal sessions four Indians found guilty of murder were sentenced to death. £ii>
