IMPERIAL POLITICS.
PARLIAMENT ADJOURNED. London, February 14. Parliament has risen and will reassemble on March 6. DOMINION RECIPROCITY, Lord Selbourne, speaking at Liverpool, said that while he accepted Mr Bonar Law’s decision re food duties, he would regret it if they were unable to complete Imperial preference without adjustment of food taxes. If the Dominions did not receive reciprocity the day would come when they w'ould make reciprocal bargains with Germany or some other country. HOME RULE QUESTION. Mr Birrell, speaking at Warrington, said that'the debate in the House of Lords showed that the idea of Home Rule had dawned on their lordships’ minds. The Government would proceed with the Home Rule Bill. They would not shoot Ulstermen, hut at all costs would protect the Roman Catholics in Ulster from violence. "Whatever steps were taken to protect them would receive British support.
IRISH BY-ELECTION. Martin Murphy was returned' unoplosod for East Waterford. NAVAL PRIZE BILL. Tire Naval Prize Bill will be reinroduced early next session.
