FREE FOR AMERICAN COASTERS. (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.' (United Press Association.) (Received 11.0 a.m.) Washington, February 17. In the Senate on the Inter-Oceanic Canals Bill, the Committee rejected Senator Root’s amendment repealing the free passage through the canal of American coasting ships. It is unlikely any action re Senator Root’s proposal will be taken during the present session.
