THE QUESTION OF SELF-INTER-EST.
(To the Editor “Stratford Post.”) Sir _[ W as very much surprised at the contents of Mr AV ilson’s letter in your paper of the loth inst., and am sure that the Stratford people have no sympathy with that type of letter, and it can only do harm to one person, and that person is Mr Wilson. Some very serious inuendoes were made aaginst Mr Kirkwood in tha. letter; in fact, insinuations that, m my opinion, would only lower the dignity of the Mayor to reply to, and [ am sure Mr Kirkwood will see the matter in this light. Personally, 1 think Mr Wilson is the only man in Stratford capable of writing such <■ letter about Mr Kirkwood. Mr Wilson’s desire for the bridge has made him write a letter that he must now regret. If ho were to analyse that desire, he would find that he expects that the spending of from £6OOO to £BOOO pounds of the ratepayers’ money on a work for which there is no necessity at the present time, will increase the value of his property across Hie bridge. Thanking you for valuable space. I am, etc., CITIZEN.
