ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
THE SALTWATER CREEK FATALITY. Christchurch, February 13. The body of N. Rapson, the fourth victim of the Saltwater Creek drowning tragedy, three weeks ago, was found at the mouth of the Ashley river to-day. All 'the bodies have now been recovered. MAORI’S FATAL FALL FROM A TRAIN. As the race train which loft New Plymouth at 6.30 o’clock yesterday evening was gathering up speed after the stop at Egmont Road station, a Maori, named Takapi Wirenui Nophia jumped off or fell under the train. The accident was observed by a porter and the train was pulled up. The man, however, was. instantaneously killed, hiS body being frightfully mangled. The body; was conveyed to New Plymouth by the mail train and taken to the morgue, pending an inquest. The deceased, who was 27 years of age, resided at Waitara Road, 'and was a married man with four children.
