A CORNER IN WHEAT. (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright., (United Press Association.) Now Yoijc, February 11. James Patten, who cornered wheat a. year or two back, at New York, pleaded guilty to an indictment charging him with action in restraint of trade. He was fined £BOO, which was paid immediately. t. Lawiasen’s Weekly Report. Last Saturday I held my usual Weekly sale, when the various lines brought forward met with very good competition, although poultry are somewhat lower in prices than usual. I quote as follows:—Hens Is 2d to Is 9d, ducks Is to 2s 3d, cockerels 9d to Is Bd, apples 3s to 3s 6d, pears 2s to 4s, peachs 2s 9d to 3s od, nectarines 3s to 6s, tomatoes 3s to 6s, according to size of case and quality.
