FORESTRY.
ANNUAL DISTRICT MEETING. The annual district meeting of the Taranaki Foresters’ Courts was held at Hawera yesterday. District Chief Ranger Bro. R. Fawcett (Court Inglewood Fdrest) presided. Other officers present were District Treasurer Bro. if. R. Cat!lcy (Court Taranaki), District Beadle Bro. A. ,T.‘ Way (Court Taranaki), and District Secretary Bro. C. Tunbridge (Court Waircka). The following lodge delegates were also present:—P.C.R. Bro. E. A. Golding (Court Taranaki), P.D.C.R. Bro. A. J. Tunbridge and P.C.R. Bro. T. N. Avery (Court Waireka), Bro. A. W. Hoskin (Court Raleigh), P.C.R. Bro. W. J. McNiven (Court Egmont), P.C. R. Bro. W. Sullivan (Court Stratford), P.C.R. Bro. A. Caldwell and P.C.R. W. E. Henderson (Court Inglewood Forest), P.C.R. Bro. A. Rogers (Court Pride of Eltham), and P.C.R. Sister !. Kibby (Court Pride of New Plymouth). P.O.R. Sister A. Watkins (Court Lady Islington). The annual report showed that matters are extremely satisfactory in every departineiit. The membership has 1 increased throughout the district, whilst the various lodge funds show a substantial increase. A letter was received from the Sydney District replacing clearance members on the same footing throughout \ T ew Zeland and the Commonwealth, ■uid It was resolved that the meeting was in entire sympathy and would cooperate in arty proposal emulating from tlie Sydney District. A hearty vote of accorded Bro. Wesson, District Secretary oj Wellington, for the work done in connection with the formation of a. Subsidiary High Court for New Zealand. Bros. C. H. Foote, A. H. Arnold, and C .T. Mills were re-elected auditors for the ensuing year.
A recommendation was made that a new district office bp created, viz., District Woodward. It was decided to hold the next half-yearly meeting at Eltham. Election of officers resulted:—D.C . R., Bro B. V, Kivell (Court Stratford); D.S.C.R., Bro. A. J. Waj (Court Taranaki); District Beadle, Bro. A. Coldwell (Court Inglewood Forest). it was resolved that the name ot P.D.C.R. Bro. R. Fawcett (Court Inglewood Forest) be placed on the merit board, and that he be presented with a P.C.R. jewel. P.D.C.R. Bro. A. Tunbridge then presented the jewel. Eulogistic reference was made to the work of the District Secretary, Bro. C. Tunbridge, and the District Treasurer, Bro. H. R. Cattley. The honorarium of the former was increased by £lO, and of the latter by £5. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Court Egmont for the hospitable manner in which they had received the delegates, and whose hospitality included a sumptuous dinner.
