THE BETTING EVIL. London, February 5. In tho House of Lords the Betting Inducements Bill, preventing tho publication of tipsters’ advertisements, passed the committee stage. The Bishop of Hereford’s amendment was rejected, extending tho penalties to anyone writing or printing any betting coupon or list of odds. It is stated that 325 largo employers in Lancashire and Cheshire favoured tho amendment, betting on football interfering with the work.
