SUPREME COURT.

PRISONERS SENTENCED. (Per Press Association.) Wellington, February A. At the Supreme Court to-clay Albert John Udy, charged with destroying a house, the property of his mother, at Waihakeha, near Carterton, by blowing it up, was found guilty. Sentence- was deferred. John Geo. Norris, found guilty of assault with intent to commit rape on a child, was sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment with hard labour. His Honor (Mr Justice Chapman) said that the sentence would have been more severe but for the fact that people noticed accused’s suspicious actions and intervened • before ho was able to carry out his intention, of which there was no doubt. William Hammington (alias Hill) was found guilty of indecent assault on a young girl. Sentence was deferred.
