EGMONT RACES. ! (Per Press Association.) Hawera, February 5. There is beautiful weather and a good attendance for the first day of the Egmont races. Results:— Hawera Stakes.—Bobrikoff 1, Masterpiece 2, Mendip 3. Also started: Lady Menschikoff. Won by 2 lengths. Time, Imin 44 3-ssec. Whareroa Hurdles.—Sandy Paul 1, Aviatrix 2, Marton 3. Also started: Whimper, Bercola. Won by two .lengths. Time, 2rain 46see. Ohawe Hack Hurdles.—Ngateranui 1, Allure 2, Serenity 3. Also started: Timothy, Clemency, Princess Flo. Won by three lengths. Time, 2rnin 47 3-ssec. Mere Mere Hack Flat.—Grattan 1, Parktide 2, Lady Fran 3. Time, Imin 3 3-ssec, Dr. Paget, rider of Lucerne, broke his collar bone. O’Shea and MacDonald were also hurt, but the extent of their injuries is not yet ascertained.
