OIL IN A STORM AT SEA

The steamer Margaret ha has arrived at Plymouth. She encountered tremendous seas, and everything moveable was swept overboard. There were ten feet of water in the engine room. The captain pumped thouands of tons of oil from the cargo overboard during tho height of the storm, and this proved successful. OVERDUE. (Received 10.45 a.m.) London, January 30. It is believed that the grain steamer, Whittingham, bound from Baltimore to Rotterdam, was lost in the
Atlantic during the recent storms, and it has been posted as overdue.
