WHARF LABOURER INJURED

(Per Press Association.) Wellington, January 29

William Jones, a married man, while assisting in unloading work this morning at the steamer Waihora, was struck by a sling filled with hags of sago, and suffered a compound fracture of the left leg. Jones was in the wharf doorway when the sling swung through the doorway, twisting round, and pinned him to the ground. He was removed to the hospital. f ACCIDENT AT MOKAU. A son of Mr. Lennox, of the Mokau, broke his wrist at the Mokau coal mine at dinner time yesterday. He tripped and fell over a sleeper. Mrs. Robertson administered first-aid and put the injured arm in splints. The boy was then brought to New Plymouth by motor-car for medical attention.
