The Britishers are homeward bound to-day. ATHLETICS. (Received 11.15 a.m.) ■ New York, January 28. Thorpe admits that he was a professional baseball player in 1909 and 1910. The trophies will be returned to the Games Committee. American officials consider the decision a great blow to amateur sport. BOXING. DEFINING THE RULES. “Snowy” Baker is convening a conference at the end of February with the object of appointing a boxing commission to define the rules, weight, standards, and championship regulations. Communications will be sent to London and New York with the idea of securing universal rules.
