Private individuals and public irstitutions are subscribing freely to the defence fund. Several landed proprietors have promised their tenants the ownership of their holdings on their return from the war. A THREAT FROM RUSSIA. (Received 9.10 a.m.) London, January 28. It is reported at Odessa that if Turkey remains obdurate the Russians will land at Trebizoud (on the Black Sea) and proceed to Erzerum. CHOLERA AMONG THE SERVIANS Belgrade, January 28. i The cholera outbreak among the Servian troops is carrying off hundreds of victims daily. General Patrick has reported that the outbreak is of a serious character, and so far preventive measures have proved futile.
