• New Plymouth, January 28. The following weights for the Taranaki Jockey Club meeting were omitted yesterday Cup: Byron 8.3, Kauroa 7.0, Royal Simon 7.0. First Welter : Stepney 8.0. Hurdlesf Oteheau 9.0 A Sydney cablegram states that twelve thoroughbred yearlings, bred by Mr Wheatcroft, America, averaged 204 guineas, when sold by auction. The highest price paid was 400 guineas for a filly by St. Saxim—Obia. At Sydney yesterday the Anniversary Handicap was won by Zilpor, with (Lochano second and Jacamar third. Fifteen horses started and Zilper won by a head. Time, 2m,in 35sec. At the Anniversary meeting in Sydney, yesterday,. the Novice Handicap resulted; Tartanus 1, Kilmeadon 2, Tympano 3. Nine horses started, and Tartanus won by six lengths. Time, Imin 40isec. At Perth yesterday the Westralian Handicap resulted-.-—Swagger 1, Keermeer 2, Maoriland 3. Thirteen started. Won by a length’ and a half, a nose between second and third. ,Time, 3min 6 4-ssec.
