ANGLICAN SYNOD.

FRIDAY’S SITTING. (Per Press Association.) Nelson, January 24. At the Anglican General Synod this afternoon the following resolutions, attached to the report of the Board of Theological Studies, were adopted—(l) That in order to meet the expenditure of the board the dioceses be assessed for the next three years at £IOO per annum; (2) that for eqch of the next three years the sum of £8( be, set aside by the General Church Trust to provide exhibitions if required for candidates for holy orders, who shall pass grade 111., subject to the regulations drafted by the Board; (3) that the following bo nominated as members of the Board: Archdeacons Richards and H. W. Williams, the Revs. H. T. Purchas, J. R. Wilford, V. M. Johnson, and F. G. Harvie; (4) that the Synod desires to place on record its high appreciation of the services rendered to the church by the Rt. Rev. F. Wallis, D.D., particularly in connection with the Board cf Iheo logical Studies, which has benefited largely by his enthusiasm ; and, further, that the Synod extends to Pishoi Wallis its heartfelt sympathy with hire in his continued illness, and pray: that he may bo restored to sue! strength as will enable him to resuim his work. A motion expressing .satisfaction that Bishop Neligan’s health wa largely restored was carried. The Wanganui Church authentic: were empowered to sell ;the presen site, and with the proceeds purchas another in the Avenue. On the recommendation of the Com raittee of Trusts the General Syno: authorised the Dunedin Diocesan Trua Board to exchange with the Citj Council certain lands on which t: erect a cathedral.
