POLITICIAN SEEKS DIVORCE.
■ T, ■; ■' “i* ■ * Perth, January 15. Herbert Swan, the Labour member for North Perth, has petitioned for a , divorce from his wife, on the ground of desertion. According to the evidence, the parties were married in Perth in 1897. The same year the respondent went to visit her mother at Goulburn. She did not return. He visited Sydney in 1905, but she refused to see him/ She came to Perth in 1907, but they never spoke. She was earning £5 or £6 a week at a Redfern millinery establishment. Mr Justice Burnside reserved judgment, the respondent having pleaded that her health would not allow hei to voyage to Perth.
