FIRE BRIGADE MATTERS.

TEAMS IN TRAINING. The teams of the Stratford Fire Brigade resumed active training ' this morning, in preparation for the New Zealand demonstration at Wanganui. Lieutenant Wilson, Foreman Burgess. Branchmen Boon, and Fireman Davies and Sullivan, with Fireman Crossan, as emergency, are the men who will uphold Stratford’s reputation at the southern competitions.

The annual competitions for the Brigade will take place on the practice ground on February 13. The, events to he decided are:— One-rnan coupling, for Hallenstein Bro8.&> ballenge trophy one-man car-ry-gear, for the Bishara Cup; and a one-mah scratch event, for the Burgess Cup. The donor of the lastilamed trophy has been permitted to alter the attached to the prize. Hitherto it has been essentially a challenge cup, and it has been impossible for any man to win it outright. Now, two wins in succession or three at intervals will make it the property of the successful competitor. The Stratford Brigade will also compete in a match with Eltham, the date for which has not yet been decided, but it will probably be held before the Wanganui Tournament.
