Mr Asquith stated that Viscount Haldane’s education speech merely indicated general principles that the (Govern rnenl had in view. Their attainment would be gradual. The Primate, speaking at Folkestone, welcomed Viscount Haldane’s scheme. He was prepared to co-op-erate with it. He supported the Scottish system, in which religion was interwoven with education.
