The Minister of Works line promised a Chamber of Commerce deputation to recommend the Cabinet to pro tect shippers wishing for an unfetter cd shipping agreement.
General Hertzog’s speech is regarded as widening the breach with General Botha. The latter’s followers bitterly resent the attack, but General Botha is repressing any demonstration in his favour, and lias insisted on silence until Parliament meets.
