Mr. Newton King’s Stratford Weekly Report.
At the Haymarket on Saturday last I had a full yarding of pigs to offer before a large attendance. The inquiry was practically confined to good and forward stores, slips and wcaners being dull. 1 quote:—Slips and wcaners 8s to 13s 6d, small stores 15s (kl to £1 Is, medium do. up to £1 9s 6d, good do. £1 12s 6d to £1 16s, hack £5 15s. At the Mart.—Poultry: hens Is to Is sd, roosters Is 6d, ducks Is Gd to Is 7d, chicks !>d; potatoes 10s 6d to 12s cwt, onions 14s cwt, furniture, fancy goods, etc., at usual rates. Fruit : About 600 eases came to hand during the week, chiefly peaches which arrived in over ripe condition. Plums, Burbank 2s 6d to 4s, cherry plums 2s dark 3s 6d to 4s, other sorts 2s to 3s 3d, peaches A grade 2s 9d to 3s 9d, B grade 2s 3d, apricots 5s to 6s Gd, nectarines 5s (kl to 6s, grapes 9.U1 per lb, cucumbers ,2s 9d apples Is 9d to 6s (id, according to size of case and quality. ~
