MASTERTON HOUSE DESTROYED

Masterton, January 14

A four-roomed house and its tontents, owned by Rangi Kerehoma, and occupied by Frank Boyle, was destroyed by lire to-night. The furniture was insured for £IOO in the Australian Alliance. The insurance on the house is not known.

A ten-roomed wooden building occupied by Frederick Batchelor, as a boardinghouse, was totally destroyed by lire last evening. Mrs. Batchelor was the only one at the house at the time. When she was out in the yard at the rear she heard a rumbling sound, and looked round. She saw the kitchen in flames.
