THE TARANAKI SHOW.
The Taranaki 'Agricultural Society are undoubtedly on the right tracks for the most successful show ever held in Taranaki. The secretary, Mr Arthur Cliff, reports that the butter entries, which closed last Wednesday, are a record for the Society, the number being 42. This is very creditable when all are aware that a great number of the factories that have been producing butter are now cheese-making. The secretary also reports that a great number of farmers who have not shown for years have informed him of their intention of again facing the judge at the forthcoming show. The reason given for this is that the farmers are recognising that it is a great deal easier to place stock in the ring in show form at this time of the year than in the spring, and again they have more time and are looking forward to the coming show as a holiday as well as a point of education. Farmers and fanciers who have not already received a shedule of competitions for the show should apply to the secretary for one and it will be forwarded free of charge to any part.
