DEFENCE OF THE EMPIRE.
A NAVAL CONFERENCE

Mr Fisher states that a joint subsidiary naval conference has been arranged, at which Canada, New Zealand and Australia will be represented. Regarding the defence of the northern and southern Pacific he added that joint action for such defence has been the policy of his party throughout.

Lord Methven, addressing the Territorials, said that while he supported Lord Haldane, yet when they heard Lord Roberts appealing, they might know he was right.
