The secretary of the South Australian Petroluem Syndicate states that a Melbourne , firm, of high repute is acting on behalf of the Standard Oil Company of Australia, and is negotiating Avith his syndicate for the purpose of raising capital to thoroughly test Kangaroo Island, and open up the oil deposits believed to exist there.
