o ATTEMPTED MURDER CHARGE. (Per Press Association.) Nelson, January 6. The Magistrate’s Court was occupied all day with the preliminary hearing of a charge against Robert Alfred Sehwass, of attempting to murder his wife at Richmond, on December 1!'. Tho evidence for the prosecution was unfinished when the Court adjourned. THE AOHANGA TRAGEDY. Masterton, January 5. No fresh information is to hand concerning tho Aohanga launch fatality. Two oars and a quantity of wreckage were found on the beach yesterday. Search parties are out to-day, but a telephone message received at 5 o’clock this afternoon from Mataikona indicated that none of the bodies had yet been recovered. THE PETONE AFFAIR. Wellington, January 6. Frank Carter, who disappeared from his home -at Petone on Saturday night, in peculiar circumstances, returned home late to-night. He was in a famished condition and had apparently been wandering about the country in the meantime.
