PRESIDENT TAFT.
PRAISE FROM THE PRESS. (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (United Press Association.) London, January 6. The newspapers acclaim President Taft’s speech regarding arbitration and the Panama tolls as the best possible beginning for the celebration of the signing the Treaty of Ghent. The ‘Daily Graphic’ says that the elections have taken the presidency from President Taft, but have' given him back spiritual freedom once more. He is a political idealist, but the Senate may take another view.
