NOTES AND MEMORANDA.
Mr R. D. Lowers advises that ho hao big bargains in boys’ suits, suitable for school wear. These suits are well made, of fashionable cut, and are exceptionally hard wearing. A business man without a diary is as much lost as a woman without a hairpin. Mr Hopkins is advertising diaries to-day from (id each. The Stratford Borough Council notify in another column that the watermains north of Pembroke road will he closed from 2 to 5 p.m. to-morrow. A young lady for the counter is wanted. In to-day’s issue we circulate the Melbourne’s sale announcement concerning salvage goods from Messrs Arch. Clark and Sons’ recent warehouse fire. Tho Melbourne wore successful tenderers for several big lots, and a perusal of the sale inset will convey some idea of the startling bargains to be offered to-morrow. At Tattersalls, Hawera, on Saturday, 11th inst., the N.Z. L. and M. Agency Coy., will hold a horse fail. Particulars' are advertised elsewhere. Mr Newton King will hold a cattlesale in his Stratford yards to-mor-row. Entries appear in another column. Messrs Webster, Dobson and Uo. publish their stock list for January.
