SLAUGHTERMEN’S DISPUTE,
(Per Press Association.) Wellington, December 30. The difficulty which has arisen be tween the slaughtermen and freezing companies is in a state of suspence. The cancellation of the registration ol the several unions will be complete about the middle of next month. Meantime such concessions as the companies decided to make at the Christchurch Conference have been submitted to the men, and it is understood that there is small likelihood of their acceptance. Negotiations are still in progress. WORKERS IN CONFERENCE. (Received 8.0 a.m.) London, December 30. . The South Wales Miners’ Federation, since the strike conference with the North Eastern railway men, pass ed a resolution that the recent strike settlement was absolutely unjust, and requested executives of the different societies to call a conference. The Seamen’s and Firemen’s conference, after discussing the establishment of a Wages Board, remitted the question to the executive to take what action necessary.
A conference of Dyers’ Trades Unions at Bradford, representing 50,000. rejected the masters’ concessions, and decided to take a ballot on them.
