THE INSURANCE ACT.
THE MEDICAL ASSOCIATION’S RECOMMENDATION. (Received 9.30 a.in.) London, December 29. The British Hospitals Association has recommended that no person insured under the Act be received as out-patients unless on a doctor’s certificate or accident emergency. Tile Covernincut has secured 2000 doctors towards the 10.000 required to treat the twelve million who, it is estimated, will be insured under the Act. Doctors in many districts resolutely refuse to work under the Act. The secretary of the British Medical Association states that members have not been absolved from their original pledge. Two additional members of the Medical Council have resigned, disapproving of the Council’s policy regarding the Insurance Act.
