(Per Press Association.) Palmerston N., December 27. The Manawatu Racing Club’s summer meeting was continued to-day in glorious weather. The racing was good. The totalisator returns for the day were £23,105, against £18,976 for the corresponding day last year. Results:— . Kelvin Hack Handicap, of 120 sovs; 1 mile.—l Fashion Plate, 8.8, 1; 4 Top Note, 7.3, 2; 2 Queen of Scots, 8.12, 3. 3 Master Laddo 9.9, and 5 Paraparama 7.12 also started. Won by a length. Time, Imin 44 l-ssec. ' Tiritea Hurdles, of 120 sovs; one mile and three quarters.—4 Whimper, 9.0, 1; 1 Flingot, 10.0, 2; 3 Aema, 9.9, 3. 2 Goldbird 10.9 also started. Won by three lengths. Time, 3mln 56 l-ssec. Higiiden Hack Handicap, of 100 sovs; six furlongs.—s Passadena, 6.10, 1; 2 Heather, 6.10, 2; 3 Daybreak, 7.11, 3. 1 Lady Volga 9.0, 7 Black Lupin 8.10, 4 Lady Louisa 8.9, and 6 Glenlivet 6.9 also started. Won by a length. Time, Imin 14 3-ssec. "Liverpool Handicap, of 300 sovs; one mile and a furlong, ; —8 Sea Queen 8.10, 1; 1 Obligant, 7.13, 2; 5 Byron, 8.11, 3. 2 Rill 7.12, 7 Allegory 7.9, 10 Mangaroa 7.2, 9 Waipaka 7.0, 6 Semaphore 7.0, 11 Arion 7.0, ..4 Soatondale 6.10 and 12 Vladinoy 6.7 also started. Vladinoy led all along the back. In the run home Obligant led to inside the distance, where Seaj Queen came fast on the outside and defeated Obligant by a length and a half. Time, Imin 54 l-ssec. Palmerston North Stakes, of 500 sovs; six furlongs.—3 Gladiole, 8.10, 1; 1 Ermengarde, 7.13, 2; 5 Styx, 8.4, 3. 7 Vibration 9.1, 4 Imagination 8.4, 1 Adelicia 8.4, 2 Peronilla 7.4 and 6 Ogier 6.9 also started. G.ladiole got a flying start, and was never headed, winning by about six lengths. Adelicia was coupled with Ermengarde. Vibration pulled up lame. Time, 1 min 14 2-ssec.
