HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE,
The current programme at His Majesty’s Theatre attracted a large at-’ tendance last night, and the pictures were greatly appreciated. On Mon-! day night next “Arabian Treachery”! is the “star” drama. In none of the remarkable series of animal pictures issued by “Ambrosio” have we had quite such a remarkable scene as that in this film in which a white | woman and her child are menaced by man-eating lions, one of which is| shown leaping repeatedly at a frail! door of the hut in the desert, behind j which the fugitives are cowering—a remarkable piece of realism which will j thrill all who see it.
The scenario of “The Stolen Ring,”j a splendid Lubin drama, reads: Walt-1 er Brooks is a clerk at the Grand Hotel, and one morning a chamber-1 maid gives him a chamois bag containing a large amount of money and a of odd design, which has been left under the pillow by Mrs Walling,' a guest who with her husband have just departed. Brooks puts the bag in the safe and Will Taylor, son of the landlord, sees it. Young Taylor, has been going the pace, and is em-' barrassed, he steals the money and ring and when the Wallings return they find the bag stuffed with paper. l Brooks is arrested, but afterwards let out on bail. Grace Davis, who is Brook’s sweetheart, is a manicurist, and one day a woman named Blanche Daix presents herself for treatment. As she lays her hand upon the table Grace recognises the ring which Brooks sad described. The woman is shadowed and finally brought before, the parties concerned,'she admits that young Taylor, gave her the ring, Brooks had described. The woman lord’s son sent to jail.
