FIRES.
FIVE PACE-HORSES BURNED. (Per Press Association.) Reefton, December 27. A fire occurred in Memahon’s stables, when five horses which were to have competed in the races to-day, were destroyed. The horses were Tapp’s Amberstone, Rose’s Daunton, Shield’s Comedian, Colvin’s Merchantman, and the Middlepark Co.’s Armstrong. The origin of the fire is unknown.
