REMARKABLE HAILSTORM.
HAILSTONES THE SIZE OF TENNIS BALLS..
(Received 9.0 a.m.) Sydney, December 24
A remarkable hailstorm occurred in the iaverell district. Trees for miles around were stripped, the leaves forming a perfect carpet beneath. Numerous windows were smashed by the hailstones, which were the size of tennis balls, weighing over a quarter of a pound. Galvanised iron roofs were dented, and in some cases pierced.
Several horses were knocked down, and a quantity of live stock killed.
