CABINET CHANGES
Capetown, December 20. The only Cabinet changes are that Mr Sauer succeeds General Hertzog, and Sir Thomas Watt succeeds Mr Graaf, whilst the latter takes Mr Gubbin’s portfolio.
General Botha resents General Hertz.og’s disclosing Cabinet proceedings. He states that General Hertzog unnecessarily asked whether South African interests have preference over the Imperial interests. The true interests of South Africa need not conflict. It is unpardonable for General Hertzog to suggest that the (Empire was only good so long as it was useful to South Africa.
