CENTENARY OF PEACE.
PROPOSALS FOR CELEBRATIONS

London, December 19
A British committee for the celebration of the centenary of peace among English-speaking nations has been formed. The Mansion House has raised £60,000 for preliminary expenses. The proposals include a monument to George AA r asliington in Westminster Abbey, and the purchase of Sulgrave Manor (the ancestral home ■ f Mr Asquith). Sir Edward Grey and Mr Roosevelt wrote in support of the movement. The late Mr AATiitelaw Reid wrote on December 6 stating he hoped to attend, and adding that the movement could not be more opportune nor helpful to the peace of the world.
