On a certain green the other evening (writes “Measurer” in the Dunedin Star) the unusual sight was witnessed of a club tie doubles being played until 9.4-5 p.m. The game, which commenced at G p.m., proved too fascinating for those taking part to be adjourned to a future date. In the presence of over a dozen spectators the game was played to a finish amid groat excitement. Even when one of the players was forced to leave at 9 p.m. to eep an appointment a substitute was quickly found to take his place. The remarks of the var'ous rnaterfarailias alien their hubbies returned home from “the bowling green” at “10 p.m.” doubtless would bo of an interesting nature.
