Dunedin, December 14. In the Farewell Handicap at the Lake County'races on Friday complaint was made that J. Beale, rider of Officious, used offensive language to the clerk of the scales and others. Beale was brought before the stewards and suspended for twelve months. At a meeting of the stewards however, a fine of £5 was imposed instead of suspension.
